Skin Betrayal: Episode 2
You wake up one morning and your eyelids are swollen. Your pissed off because you are normally known for having good skin. So you ignore it and just think your eyelids should go back to normal by noon and you take yourself t0 work. Cuz real talk aint nobody calling out of work for some swollen eye lids.
Its noon and you realize that you have been so busy that you haven’t had the chance to pee since morning. You feel the urge and rush to the bathroom. Only to take a quick look in the mirror and notice that your right eye has full blown eczema on it, hot to touch and bright red. You dont panic, its noon , your shift will be over soon, then you can go home and take some allergy medicine and go to bed. By morning, you can and will look normal again. As they say, “this to shall pass.”
Its 2pm, your manager looks at your face and says “Ohhh no, your right eye, what happened?”
You run to the bathroom to see what she is talking about. Your right eye is so swollen that it looks as though someone sucker punched you! On top of that, the eczema is full blown over your eye lid and underneath your eyes as well.
Your manager tells you to go home, but see a doctor before you go home to rest. You give report to the other nurses and as you give report, some nurses stare while others hug you and tell you that they hope you will be okay.
Its 4pm…….and you are now sitting in the doctors office covered in hives, a rash on your neck and could barely see out of your right eye.
The doctor walks in the room………
